Pig – Hurt People Hurt (Review)
Pig releases Hurt People Hurt on May 22nd, 2026. Needless to say, PIG frontman Raymond Watts is a legend in the industrial music scene, and this album is no exception to the great output of material from PIG in the past. If anything, Hurt People Hurt feels like an intentional evolution in soundscapes and is a very stylistic release. Watts comes across at times like a darker David Bowie figure, creepy, relevant, and authentic all at once. “Sex & Suicide” is one of the best industrialized PIG songs that I’ve heard in a while. The opening track, “Tosca’s Kiss,” is a perfect intro to the album, with an operatic feel that builds to sheer madness. “Scars” mixes a dancefloor beat with a more poetic approach vocally, and it works to create a brooding darkness that builds in intensity. This is a solid album from beginning to end, and it gets better with each repeat listen. Lyrically, the album hits all the right notes as well, touching on deep subjects like emotional trauma and the current state of society, all with a tinge of sarcasm that feels like the work of a great storyteller, spinning each song like a spider spins a web.
