As one of the most respected bands of the EBM movement, it’s almost hard to fathom that Front 242 has only released a total of 8 studio albums throughout their long career. Since the beginning, Front 242 has released Geography (1982), No Comment (1984), Official Version (1987), Front by Front 1988), Tyranny (For You) (1991), 06:21:03:11 Up Evil (1993), 05:22:09:12 Off (1993), and Pulse (2003). Yes, they have also released several live albums and EPs but only 8 studio albums in 41 years seem minimalistic at best.
However, all of the members of the band are individual creative forces and have kept busy over the years with multiple side projects that often amount to incredible hidden musical gems.
Jean Luc De Meyer has been the most prolific and has lent his voice and other talents to the most projects overall, but often these side projects give you a glimpse of what each band member brings to the overall sound of Front 242.
A decent amount of these albums and projects can be found on Alfa Matrix’s Bandcamp webpage at https://alfamatrix.bandcamp.com/
