Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon Biography:

Bring Me The Horizon formed in Sheffield, England, in 2004, when vocalist Oli Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls, and guitarist Curtis Ward came together from various local metal and punk backgrounds. Their earliest material leaned heavily into deathcore, reflecting the aggressive style they were experimenting with at the time. This lineup became the foundation of a band that would later undergo major stylistic evolution while maintaining a consistent core of founding members.

The group’s debut album, Count Your Blessings (2006), introduced their intense early sound and helped them gain attention across the UK heavy‑music scene. As they moved forward, the band began shifting away from pure deathcore, embracing a broader metalcore direction on Suicide Season (2008). This transition marked a turning point, earning them greater critical and commercial recognition and setting the stage for more ambitious musical experimentation.

Their third album, There Is a Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let’s Keep It a Secret. (2010), expanded their sonic palette with elements of electronic music, orchestral arrangements, and pop‑leaning textures. This period also brought lineup changes, including the departure of Ward and later guitarist Jona Weinhofen, while the band’s profile continued to rise internationally. By the time they released Sempiternal (2013), they had fully embraced a more melodic, atmospheric approach, earning major chart success and industry certifications.

Bring Me The Horizon continued evolving with That’s the Spirit (2015), which leaned further into alternative rock and electronic influences, followed by Amo (2019), their first album to reach No. 1 in the UK. During this era, keyboardist and producer Jordan Fish became a key creative contributor before departing in 2023. The band also explored experimental formats with releases like Music to Listen To… (2019) and launched the multi‑part Post Human project, beginning with Survival Horror (2020) and continuing with Nex Gen (2024).

Across their career, Bring Me The Horizon have earned multiple awards, a BRIT Award, and Grammy nominations, while selling more than five million records worldwide. Their catalog spans deathcore, metalcore, alternative rock, electronic rock, and pop‑driven experimentation—making them one of the most stylistically fluid bands of their generation. As of the mid‑2020s, the lineup features Oli Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, and Matt Nicholls, continuing to push their sound into new territory while remaining a major force in modern rock and metal.
