Confess has released their new album Metalmorphosis on Friday, May 15th, 2026. This is a must-listen for fans of 80s hard rock and heavy metal. While this is the band’s 4th full album, some of you might not be familiar with them. Notably, the band features John Elliott on vocals, who also fronts another great band in the same musical vein, Crashdiet. The band has mixed things really well on this album, and the aggressive tone of in-your-face rock n’ roll is evident throughout, while still delivering a strong mixture of emotion and melody in the quieter parts. Confess is one of those bands that would have been an MTV darling, in heavy rotation during the 80s and the Headbangers Ball era. Standout tracks for me are “Wicked Temptations” and “The Warriors.” Things kick off with a pedal to the metal track called “Colorvision,” and the band just floors it from there on the next two tracks mentioned above. “The Warriors” could have easily been a Skid Row hit back in the day with that fiery guitar and sleazy back alley feel to it. “Running To My Death” is another adrenaline-fueled rocker, but for those craving old-school style ballads, check out “Beat Of My Heart”. Confess has put everything together this time out with a hard-rockin’ sound that’s balanced nicely with melodies that accent it nicely. Check this one out! It feels like an instant classic.
