Alleycat Scratch Reimagined, Remixed, Remastered Released…No one was closer to that dream of super stardom than Alleycat Scratch. Alleycat Scratch set the blueprint of what Sleaze Metal and Glam Rock were. The band was all about excess…They ate, breathed, played, snorted and slept their way to the top. With the release of Reimagined, Remixed, Remastered – Return To Trash City, Alleycat Scratch takes you back to Trash City with a reworked version of the genre defining cult classic Deadboys In Trash City.
”The tracks have been given great care and painstakingly tweaked and every little nuance and every part of the songs were reimagined. The Remixing of… and Remastering of the original files is somewhat closer to what Alleycat Scratch imagined and where they wanted to go utilizing the 1993 master files.
Remixed and remastered by lead singer, Eddie Robison (Ex-Resurrection Mary lead singer), who brought ACS a harder edged with soulful vocal style, ACS became more of a cohesive unit and much more professional via its biggest champion, bassist Robert Dias. The band was rounded out with guitarist Devin Lovelace and drummer Robbi Black.
Alleycat Scratch was formed in San Francisco, but eventually made the move the illustrious Sunset Strip where dreams were made to come true or fade into obscurity. The Strip would lure not only bands but glam hungry fans to the region, and in ACS they saw a band that was very close to securing the coveted major label deal. However, without a major label contract and a cancelled European Tour, the goal became more allusive and the end in sight while a new kind of music was being ushered in.
Alleycat Scratch was a part of the glam scene that yielded the Glamour Punks, Black Board Jungle, and Swingin’ Thing. The Glam/Sleaze Kings of LA had sold out their record release party at The Troubadour which bombarded the band to new heights. Worldwide press was generated as word caught on about this must see and hear sleaze metal band from L.A. In April of 1994, the final show was held at the Roxy….where glory faded into new paths and the band members all went separate ways.
But was that the final curtain call? Once again “No Its Not”. First there was 2010’s Last Call of unreleased material with 3 newly recorded songs plus a newly remixed version of Deaboys In Trash City. What does the future hold? Just perhaps a small gig? It has been mentioned by many and according to the interview with the hair metal guru…things may change.
