Revered for her powerful voice and commanding stage presence, the American singer Lucia Cifarelli is best known for her membership of the industrial rock band KMFDM, with whom she has been associated since the turn of the millennium.
Cifarelli had initially founded the band Drill, who disbanded in the mid ‘90s after one album and tours with the likes of Stabbing Westward, Marilyn Manson, Genitorturers and Gang Of Four. She eventually joined forces with KMFDM leader Sascha Konietzko in 2000, subsequently becoming one of the primary creative forces in the group as both a vocalist and songwriter across twelve albums to date.
Cifarelli has also issued three solo albums since 2007, with the second of these, ‘I Am Eye’, appearing on Metropolis Records in 2021. The anthemic and empowering ‘Girls Like Me’ was released as a single just ahead of that album and was also its opening song. It has just received an epic remix from alleykat, the progressive house and melodic techno DJ based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, which is out as a single today.
