Unrelenting black metal masters THE INFERNAL SEA return with their captivating and terrifying new album, ‘Hellfenlic.’ Filled with historical stories of religious brutality at the hands of the notorious Witchfinder General, the album is a masterpiece of groove-laden riffs, relentless drum patterns, and dark, angry vocals.
Swirling, shifting, and cold as Medieval times, THE INFERNAL SEA’s dynamic soundscapes represent some of the best that UK black metal has to offer.
The Infernal Sea have been a plague on this Earth since 2011, composing fierce and terrifying Black Metal with their unique UK imprint, and conjuring compelling tales of English & European history throughout the Medieval period.
The Infernal Sea hail from the East of England, an area of bleak, flat, desolation that echoes throughout their music. Much of their storytelling draws from this area, in particular on their new album ‘Hellfenlic’, which centers around the brutal persecution of men and women by the most infamous Witchfinder General, Matthew Hopkins. It tells of his obsession, his religious fervour, his brutality, and ultimately his downfall.
The Infernal Sea continue to elevate their live performances with a terrifying and captivating stage show, enthralling audiences wherever they may roam. This includes performances at key UK festivals such as Bloodstock Festival, Incineration Festival, Damnation Festival, A Night of Salvation, Reaper Fest, Cosmic Void as well as a whole host of key support slots to bands such as Anaal Nathrakh, 1349, Taake, Napalm Death, Akercocke, Nargaroth, Primordial, Hellripper, Tsjuder, Mork, Rotting Christ, Hulder, Strigoi, Abigail Williams, Arch Enemy and many more.
