Today, SHOW-YA – the queens of the Japanese metal scene who are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year – reveal the new video “Tokyo, I Scream.” The track, which will be released as a digital single on October 29th, is the second single from the band’s highly anticipated new album, Showdown, set for North American and European release on November 12th via Metalville Records. The queens of the Japanese metal scene have been sitting firmly on their throne for years. With nationwide hits, TV appearances, and Japan’s biggest female-fronted band event, which SHOW-YA organize themselves, they are one of the best-known heavy metal acts in their home country, male or female. Many younger musicians from the Land of the Rising Sun also claim to have been strongly influenced by SHOW-YA.
On the occasion of their 35th band anniversary, Showdown is a down-to-earth album with a strong heavy metal influence.
“Tokyo, I Scream,” the new single, shows the a little bit “softer” side of the band. Catchy hooks together with a memorable chorus form the foundation for this rousing mid-tembo-rocker.
