On This Day May 25th In Rock Music History

Dio Released their debut album “Holy Diver” on May 25th, 1983. Former Rainbow and Black Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio formed the band with Vinny Appice after they left Black Sabbath and rounded out the band with former Rainbow bassist Jimmy Bain and guitarist Vivian Campbell. The album went double platinum in sales in the United States propelled by the singles “Rainbow In The Dark” and “Holy Diver”.
