Legendary guitarist and singer Rick Derringer has passed away at the age of 77. Derringer’s first solo album featured the single “Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo” which pushed the album into the top 25 in the U.S. charts.
Derringer was a member of The McCoys and was in both Johnny and Edgar Winter’s bands.
Rick Derringer was only 17 years old when he recorded the hit “Hang On Sloopy” with his band The McCoys, and the song reached number 1 in 1965.
