Crystal Lake Drop Brutal New Single "Neversleep"

Japanese metalcore force CRYSTAL LAKE are proud to share their new single, “Neversleep (feat. Myke Terry),” taken from their highly anticipated upcoming seventh studio album, ‘The Weight of Sound,’ set for release on January 23rd, 2026 via Century Media Records.

The track, which features Myke Terry from Volumes and Fire From The Gods on vocals, offers one of the darker pieces of the record showcasing the band’s great range of hard-hitting metalcore paired with deathcore elements. Myke Terry’s vocals carry the song’s heaviness alongside John, creating a perfect fusion. “Neversleep” follows prior released singles “The Weight of Sound,” and “Crossing Nails,” and “BlüdGod.”

Guitarist and founder YD shares about the new single:

“This track is the one where I poured in the Hardcore/Metal/Punk elements that I’ve carried as my own background to the limit. It’s simple, but with an extra twist, and at times hybrid arrangements, updating it into the kind of extreme sound that represents the current CRYSTAL LAKE. Every part of the song is made for you to dance, so don’t think too much — just feel it and enjoy. Stay heavy.”

The upcoming album, teased ever since the band joined the label back in 2024, promises to be one of CRYSTAL LAKE’s most ambitious projects so far, featuring a diverse lineup of guest artists across the heavy music spectrum. With the likes of Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), David Simonich (Signs of the Swarm), Taylor Barber (Seven Hours after Violet), Myke Terry (Fire from the Gods, Volumes), and Karl Schubach (Misery Signals), ‘The Weight of Sound’ is shaping up to be a landmark release in the band’s discography.

Guitarist and founder Yudai “YD” Miyamoto shares about the record and its inspiration:

”When I look back, I realize that CRYSTAL LAKE has now been active for 23 long years. People often say, ‘time flies,’ but the truth is we’ve carved out countless histories together – with friends, bandmates, and fellow musicians – sharing struggles that drew blood and building this band piece by piece. I have constantly been inspired by the people and the environment around me. To play that music together with comrades-in-arms is what it means to be a band. And the music that band creates has the power to shape a new culture. Our new album ‘The Weight of Sound’ is a reflection of this way of life. I truly hope you will listen and enjoy it.”

‘The Weight Of Sound’ Track List:

  1. Everblack (feat. David Simonich)
  2. BlüdGod (feat. Taylor Barber)
  3. Neversleep (feat. Myke Terry)
  4. King Down
  5. The Undertow (feat. Karl Schubach)
  6. The Weight of Sound
  7. Crossing Nails
  8. Dystopia (feat. Jesse Leach)
  9. Sinner
  10. Don’t Breathe
  11. Coma Wave

Formed in Tokyo in 2002, CRYSTAL LAKE is a dynamic five-piece band. Their distinctive sound draws from hardcore and metalcore influences, seamlessly blending infectious melodies with a powerful heaviness.

Their exceptional music has garnered widespread recognition internationally, surpassing national boundaries. With their relentless and electrifying stage presence, CRYSTAL LAKE continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

With the addition of their new vocalist John, CRYSTAL LAKE has embarked on a fresh journey. Now signed to the prestigious metal label Century Media Records, they are determined to write a new page in their history.

CRYSTAL LAKE are:
John Robert Centorrino – Lead Vocals
Yudai “YD” Miyamoto – Guitar
Hisatsugu “TJ” Taji – Guitar
Gaku Taura – Drums
Mitsuru – Bass
