XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows, or announcements?
Danny: We have a lot in the works right now for Drop Dead. A new song is coming out very soon, and more are on the way early next year. We are planning to go back into the studio sometime next year and play as many shows as we can!
XS ROCK: How long has the band been together?
Danny: Drop Dead started in 2005 when we were all teenagers. Some of us as young as 15!
XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for starting or being in a band?
Danny: Drop Dead has always been about people getting together and just making music we enjoy. We never really had any objective. We just wanted to play music.
XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?
Danny: I think most musicians enjoy doing both. They both can be very enjoyable and, at times, difficult.
XS ROCK: Were your parents supportive of your aspirations to play in a rock band?
Danny: Our families have always been supportive of our musical aspirations, especially in the early years when we were young. We would not have been able to do the things we have without their support!
XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?
Danny: My favorite song to play live is “Drawing The Devil”
XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?
Danny: The band “Fear Before The March Of Flames” was the first band I ever heard that was screaming. It certainly peaked my interest into the music genre.
XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?
Danny: Any lineup on a full Vans Warped Tour again!
XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Danny: I think our biggest accomplishment is still being in a position to make music after all these years. We hope we can continue to do it for many more to come.
XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band, what kind of career do you think you would have?
Danny: Although we all very much enjoy playing music, and wish that we could do it full-time. We all, unfortunately, still have normal, boring jobs.
XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?
Danny: I think the genre is alive and well. It has been so fun to see the resurgence of heavy music and there are so many cool bands in the scene right now.
XS ROCK: For anyone who doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?
Danny: Honestly, we are all pretty boring, normal guys.
XS ROCK: If someone had never heard you before, how would you describe your sound?
Danny: A good way to describe Drop Dead’s music would be drastic up and downs of melodic parts and heavy emotional parts. Our songs are pretty dynamic and I think that’s what makes our music special.
XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?
Danny: We want to say thank you to everyone who has been listening to our music for all these years. As well as we are very thankful to still be here and making music together!
XS ROCK: Thanks again for taking the time to talk with XS Rock!
