XYZ Singer, Terry Ilous, has recently posted the following regarding the status of the other members of the band:
Many of you have asked recently about the possibility of XYZ reuniting. So I want to be honest. While XYZ never officially disbanded, we all live in different states. Many have moved on to their own projects or have family health concerns that keep them close to home.
As for our ‘original’ line-up, I wish Paul and Marc the very best. They were an important part of my life and musical journey. They have moved on, and while that makes me sad, I respect it and still wish them nothing but love.
And for over 30yrs Joey Shapiro and Tony Marcus helped us carry on XYZ. They were amazing, loyal musicians, and I will always love and respect them. Thank you, my dear friends
Pat will always be my brother and biggest supporter. For now, Pat has retired from playing and has given me his blessing to carry the XYZ torch going forward.
A band is like a marriage—you have to know when to preserve the good memories and move on with grace. I will continue to honor the music of XYZ while moving forward with my own projects.
