Sammy Hagar (born October 13, 1947) is an American rock singer and guitarist known as “The Red Rocker.” He gained fame in the 1970s with Montrose before a successful solo career featuring the hit “I Can’t Drive 55.” Hagar enjoyed even greater success as Van Halen’s lead singer from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2003 to 2005, contributing to multiple No. 1 albums and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
