Gene Simmons, originally Chaim Witz, was born on August 25, 1949, in Haifa, Israel. He is an influential Israeli-American musician, renowned as the bassist, co-lead singer, and co-founder of the legendary hard-rock band KISS, which he formed with Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss in 1973. With his electrifying “Demon” persona, famous for fire-breathing and blood-spitting, Simmons has become a true rock icon. He was a steadfast member of KISS until their dissolution in 2023 and was proudly inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
