Stephen Pearcy Explains Why Being A Rock Singer Is Dangerous But Worth The Risk…The Ratt Singer explains: You remember the #80s going to the arena rock concerts (not called hair metal then) where ANYTHING went down and surely did. Packed shows, the smell in the arena of party time excellent, general admission tickets, oversold venues, and a good time had by all. Including RATT before, during, and after each show.
Well, after every RATT concert, I’d have the stagehands grab everything that was thrown up onstage every night and see how loved we were, lol. You’d get bras, panties (cough), joints, shirts, shoes, brass knuckle switch blade knives, quarters, rubber Rats, you name it. Even a real severed pig head at our first Castle Donington Festival, England, a whole other story.
When our manager then Marshall Berle said that rock n’ roll is a dangerous occupation, he meant it in many ways then the obvious don’t overdose. I never thought we were so loved that someone would throw a pool ball (the 8 ball no less), but the flying star?!!?! No shit!!

After that collection of party goods was given to me (and here’s proof I still have it), from then on, I’m always on my toes, in alert mode, and on the defensive. Not to say that each member of the band wasn’t hit by something on the many RATT Tours.
So kidz, thank you, and NO thanks for these kinds of party favors if you’re thinking of throwing something up there. Also, you’re on camera today, and payback would be a bitch. Next!
