Q & A With Wooden Earth

Q & A With Wooden Earth

XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows or announcements?

We’re working on our first LP, and our comic book! More touring planned for the new year and our first show of the year with Mothership  01/10/2020 right here in Dallas, Tx.

XS ROCK: How long has the band been together?

We started the band back in 2014 but we didn’t play a show until 2017.

XS ROCK: What is your music background?

We’ve both been making music since we were kids.

XS ROCK: What are your immediate music career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)

Releasing our music on vinyl and touring the states as much as possible. We also want to make our way over to Europe!

XS ROCK: What are your long-term career goals?

We want to be a well renowned band. We want the chance to show the world what we do best.

XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?

Without a doubt would be the live show. We play ever show like we might die tomorrow, and we want the audience to feel that.

Q & A With Wooden EarthXS ROCK: What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

The songs are about overcoming the odds stacked against you. It’s about survival.

XS ROCK: Do you have any outrageous tour stories from the road?

Once we were pulled over at about 3-4am, and the cops wanted us to prove that we were a band despite all the equipment in the van. They decided the only way they could know for sure is if our singer Griff would sing Free Bird right there on the spot. We didn’t go to jail that night.

XS ROCK: Were your parents supportive of your aspirations to play in a rock band?

It’s not always the case with everyone but yeah! Overall very supportive.

XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?

Waves of Smoke, Fangs, 21st Century Schizoid Man

XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?

The Chariot.. Controlled chaos at it’s finest.

XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?

 68′, Mutoid Man, Red Fang

XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

The way we manage to stay strong and resilient through hard times is a huge accomplishment to us.

XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band what kind of career do you think you would have?

Professional beer drinkers / hot wing connoisseurs.

XS ROCK: What type of equipment do you use for live shows?

A/B between an ORANGE OR50/PPC412 and an AMPEG SVT-450H/SVT-215E. TAMA DRUMS, EVANS DRUMHEADS and SABIAN CYMBALS.

XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?

Honestly, it’s stronger than ever. Selective at times, but as long as we keep contributing to the scene it benefits everyone.

XS ROCK: For anyone that doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?

People are surprised when they hear how much ground we cover as a two piece. Heavy.

XS ROCK: If someone had never heard you before, how would you describe your sound?

 Relentless and Blood Thirsty

XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?

Our new single FANGS exclusive premiere will be held by The Obelisk on 12/06/19 and the single will be available on all streaming platforms 12/13/19.
