Q & A With Todd From Mobile Deathcamp

Q & A With Todd From Mobile Deathcamp

Based out of Toledo, Ohio, MOBILE DEATHCAMP has been sawing clubs in half and leaving crowds with their collective jaws on the floor since the band’s inception in 2008. Formed by Todd Evans at the end of his 6-year stint as Beefcake The Mighty with the legendary shock rockers, GWAR, and joined in battle by Chad Smith and Matt, this musical terror pocket has been consistently leveling venues across North America

XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows or announcements?

** Hey Bobby! Well, we just thrashed the RPM Fest out in Massachusetts with like 40 other bands, KILLER time! Our new e.p., “Volume 4-ish” comes out Oct 4., AND, we start a run with Havok and Ringworm a week after that out west!

XS ROCK: So how long has the band been together?

** What time is it? Oh um, no… this is our 10th year of existence…. persistence… and patience…

XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for originally starting or being in a band?

** I absolutely love playing my guitar. I also like to make people happy. Lucky for me, it seems to make people happy when we play music. Oh, and also like Gene Simmons said, chicks dig it. Haha.

XS ROCK: What is your music background?

** I come from a long line of Appalachian pickers and fiddlers. I was first one in the family to plug that dern thang into the wally sockets! Wasn’t a popular choice with the family. BUT, they all do dig it now. I mean hell, it’s kinda like really loud electric Blue Grass, right?!?

XS ROCK: What image do you think your music conveys?

** Supersonic punkenwagglery! We try to stay tight and crisp. I hope that people can feed off our positive energy!

Q & A With Todd From Mobile DeathcampXS ROCK: What are your current music career goals?

** To continue to chase this fucking elusive musical dragon! To continue to tour as much as possible… to be the first band to play on all 9 planets… wait, EIGHT planets, and that screwy little Pluto thingy too!

XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience

** The live show is definitely where it’s at! If you want to see how a band REALLY is, go see them live. Writing/ recording is fun too tho… but, live shows are SO badass. You deliver energy to the crowd, they throw energy back at you, and the energy volley continues thru the entire set!
