XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows, or announcements?
“We are preparing a new album called “For Tomorrow”, we will release it this year if everything is fine. Also, we are rescheduling our European tour and our US tour for 2021!”
XS ROCK: So how long has the band been together?
“It’s a long story of love, but to cut it short, we started to make music together at school, years ago. It began with concerts in our hometown for Vince (drummer of the band) and I (Lead-singer / Guitarist of the band). ”
XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for originally starting or being in a band?
“Our main motivation was to tour around the world. It has always been our dream. Also, we wanted to make this passion our daily life and job.”
XS ROCK: What is your music background?
“We do have a very large panel of influences. Musically, from the Woodstock years, The Beatles, etc… to more recent bands like Kings of Leon, Muse, etc…
We also have Rhythm’n’blues, classical and jazz influences… I guess we’ve been influenced by their sounds and the way they build a composition! The Beatles, for example, always have very catchy melodies and I guess because of them I always paid special attention to the melodies in my compositions. We are also multi-instrumentists. I play the piano, the drums, and the guitar for example.”
XS ROCK: What image do you think your music conveys?
“I hope that our music conveys first of all positive vibes, and also give a smile and rock vibes to people!”
XS ROCK: What are your current music career goals?
“Take over the world aha! And do a world tour!!”
XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?
“Both are great! But we do have a special love for the stage and moments with Live audience!”
XS ROCK: What are your songs’ lyrics about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
“It can be about anything. Moments, feelings, emotions, memories, society… These days I am a lot into writing positive lyrics, about the future, about benevolence, etc…”
XS ROCK: What is the single most important thing to you as a musician?
“To always be happy to play together on stage, as long as we can.”
XS ROCK: Do you have any outrageous tour stories from the road? If so, please fill us in.
“It’s not outrageous but, the craziest tour story must be something that happened in London. We gave 2 shows in London in 2018. We took the Eurostar from Paris at 5 a.m and arrived in London early in the morning. We were supposed to go and put all our music backline in the Airbnb we rented. BUT, the supposed Airbnb didn’t exist (the announcement/host was a fake), so we were in London, tired, with all the instruments, with nowhere to sleep, so we took a big hotel room. Then we went to the concert place for our first show. 5 minutes before the show, a sound engineer went on stage, dropped my guitar, broke a string, and lost my “vibrato’s spring” so it was impossible to play on my instrument anymore aha!”
XS ROCK: What’s the strangest request that you’ve ever received from one of your fans?
“To sign her entire body!! aha We were playing in a German festival and a Reaven’s fangirl asked us at the end of the show to sign all her back, then she stayed half-naked so everyone was able to see the autographs aha!”
XS ROCK: Are your friends and family supportive of your choice to play in a rock band?
“Yes, we are super lucky to have real support from our family and friends.”
XS ROCK: What advice do you have for new bands trying to get started?
“I could maybe say: never give up and when you want something done, do it yourself!”
XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?
“Old songs like “Don’t Stop Me”, “She Left Me On Sunday” but also new ones like “Hold Me Close”, “Electric Love” and “For Tomorrow”
XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?
“The Beatles, Queen, Placebo, Kings of Leon… Because we’ve been growing watching their lives, it was a big inspiration.”
XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?
“The people we are already working with. We have the chance to work as a family in our crew, it is a real pleasure.”
XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“I guess to have built and done a first European tour on ourselves in 2018, it’s been a lot of work and at the time we were planning it and booking it alone.”
XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band what kind of career do you think you would have?
“I would definitely create companies, and be in entrepreneurship.”
XS ROCK: What type of equipment do you use for live shows?
“I play on a Gibson SG (1972), but I also have a Gretsch Electromatic. I also often play on a Les Paul Custom (1968). For my acoustic guitar, my new babe is a beautiful Guild.”
XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?
“I think there are a lot of talented bands out there, but they are maybe too often staying in the dark, and don’t have enough exposure, unfortunately…”
XS ROCK: For anyone that doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?
“I guess they would be surprised to know that when we started to play together Vince (drummer of the band) and I, at 14 years old, we wanted to create a Rhythm’N’Blues band and not a Pop/Rock band.”
XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?
“Yes, that we can’t wait to meet them again on stage and on tour! We are missing them!!”
XS ROCK: Thanks again for taking the time to talk with us at XS ROCK!
