Q & A With Madame Mayhem

Q & A With Madame Mayhem

XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows or announcements?

Madame Mayhem: Just released my new single “Broken”. I co-wrote the song with Keith Wallen (Breaking Benjamin). Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) and Ray Luzier (KoRn) are playing on the track as well. I am really excited about it and hope everyone has a chance to take a listen to it!  It was also just announced that we are playing ROCK USA festival on July 19, 2019.

XS ROCK: How long has the band been together?

Madame Mayhem: I have been doing this for a while now.

XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for starting or being in a band?

Madame Mayhem: It’s what I’ve always wanted to do.

XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?

Madame Mayhem: I love both, but the stage has always felt like home to me, so I guess I would say performing live. But what’s really the best is performing original music in front of a live audience.

XS ROCK: Do you have any outrageous tour stories from the road?

Madame Mayhem: What happens on the road stays on the road…  😉

XS ROCK: What’s the strangest request that you’ve ever received from one of your fans?

Madame Mayhem: Overall I have been lucky. My fans are the best! I would say there have been some strange ones that involve my trademarked spiked gloves I wear on stage, but that’s about it.

XS ROCK: Were your parents supportive of your aspirations to play in a rock band?

Madame Mayhem: Yes, I feel super fortunate and thankful that I have the support of my family, my parents and my brother, throughout my life. We are all very close, and to have their support to live and achieve my dreams means everything to me.

XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?

Madame Mayhem: ALL OF THEM!

XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?

Madame Mayhem: Honestly I have wanted to perform for as long as I can remember, practically my entire life, you can say since I was born I have had the passion to perform.

XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?

Madame Mayhem: That’s a great question and a difficult one! There are so many I can think of! I will just name a few of many I would love (living or dead):

Metallica, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Halestorm, Evanescence, the list goes on and on….

XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

Madame Mayhem: Just being able to do this, to create music and perform all over the world in front of fellow music lovers. This is what I have always wanted to do, and it’s not an easy road, but I feel continuing to be able to do what I love is a huge accomplishment.

XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band what kind of career do you think you would have?

Madame Mayhem: This is it. I have a bachelor’s degree in music, so being in music and performance in some way shape or form.

XS ROCK: What type of equipment do you use for live shows? ** ALL ENDORSEMENTS ***

Madame Mayhem: Depends on the tour or the show and the stage set up, but I always have my wireless SAMSON Q8 microphone with the SAMSON Concert 99 Handheld system and a backup wired SAMSON Q8X microphone, Ultimate Support stands, etc… People can see the brands I use on the bottom of the Madame Mayhem website www.MadameMayhem.com

XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?

Madame Mayhem: It’s constantly changing, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worst, but I love it as long as we continue to keep live rock music alive.

XS ROCK: For anyone that doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?

Madame Mayhem: I’ve studied Musical Theatre and Opera.

XS ROCK: If someone had never heard you before, how would you describe your sound?

Madame Mayhem: Hard rock roots, with melodies that show my vocal range and people can sing along to.

XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?

Madame Mayhem: Check out my new single “Broken”, available now!  You can follow Madame Mayhem on Spotify and stream it there, or download it on iTunes or wherever you usually purchase or stream your music online.
