Motorhead's No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith 40th Anniversary Edition Box Proves There's No Such Thing As Too Much Motorhead

While you might look at the tracklisting on this box set and think it’s a lot of the same songs throughout, you’d be wrong to dismiss the fact that these are live performances and therefore each is unique to the performance at the time. You get extra bonus tracks and newly unearthed, previously unreleased soundcheck recordings as well as three concerts that have never been released in their entirety that are completely remastered. While Lemmy may no longer be with us in physical form, his spirit is alive and well in this outing.  It’s still hard to believe that this level of loudness came from a three-piece band, but Motorhead was always stellar, and the recordings from this time period see the band ripping through some of their greatest material.  The original No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith was the only Motorhead album to reach #1 in the U.K.  This the band doing what they do best. Playing live! No, lip-syncing, no background tapes, and no bullshit! Just pure unadulterated metal music, the Motorhead way!
