As part of this re-release campaign, MAD MAX now proudly present a brand-new lyric video, inspired by the upcoming Mad Max comic, for their classic “Piece Of Candy”! The song is a reminder of the band’s pioneering spirit, bringing the early fire of the German rock and metal scene back to life with a fresh punch for today’s listeners.
Founding member and main songwriter Jürgen Breforth reflects:“When I founded Mad Max in 1981 in my hometown of Münster, I never dreamed that we’d celebrate our 45th anniversary in 2026. The entire Mad Max reissue release feels like a wonderful journey in time for me.
The first single and video “Piece Of Candy” takes me back into the year 1981.The song is actually based on the very first guitar riff that I wrote for Mad Max. I was blown away when Mad Max singer Andreas Baesler came up with the lyrics. It was one of those magic moments when you know you have created something very special together. Now, more than 40 years later, this song is still one of my all time Mad Max favourites and I can’t wait to play it live again for our fans.”
