Review:
Well, Mad Anthony definitely brings the party to this release. And that party atmosphere is one of the things that’s so glaringly missing from most modern rock songs and bands today. Take a trip back in time to the glorious 80s with Mad Anthony and you won’t ever want to come back to the present. Mad Anthony is another one of those great bands that for whatever reason didn’t make it to the level of the Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Guns N’ Roses, but the music is solid and one hell of a fun time to listen to. For me, finding an underrated previously hidden gem like this one is so satisfying. I mean everyone’s heard the top metal bands of the 80s over and over for years, but getting an album like this is fun as it sounds fresh and energetic. This entire album is really good, but standout tracks for me include “Just My Type”, “Party Time”, Mother’s Helper” and Backstage Boogie”. If you love the 80s Sunset Strip metal scene, do yourself a huge favor and check this out. It’s a great blast from the past that deserves to be heard.
