XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows or announcements?
Brad: We just played a show last night at the Music Farm in downtown Charleston! We had a great time and appreciate everyone who came out! We have 2 local shows coming up in December and then hitting the studio hard after the near year.
XS ROCK: How long has the band been together?
Brad: We formed in 2015, had a 6-ish year hiatus, and recently reformed last year!
XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for starting or being in a band?
Brad: When the opportunities came up for me to join others creating music, I couldn’t turn it down. The idea of being up on stage doing something I love and pursuing my passion is an unmatched feeling.
XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?
Brad: This is a hard one! I Iike both equally. I love the creative vibes that happen when we write new material. I feel like recording makes me a better player overall because everything has to be perfect and precise. Playing in front of a live audience is an amazing feeling. Seeing people rock out to your songs is extremely enjoyable and fulfilling!
XS ROCK: Do you have any outrageous tour stories from the road? If so, please fill us in.
Brad: We haven’t had the opportunity to go on any tours yet, but we are ready and eager! Hopefully we will have some crazy stories for you guys in the near future.
XS ROCK: What’s the strangest request that you’ve ever received from one of your fans?
Brad: I honestly haven’t had any weird or strange requests yet but I’m sure I will eventually.
XS ROCK: Were your parents supportive of your aspirations to play in a rock band?
Brad: Absolutely! My parents have always been my biggest supporters with not only music, but with everything in my life.
XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?
Brad: I like playing them all to be honest. If I had to choose… Let Me Go, Wicked Love, and Red Light Lady are my favorite tracks to play live! Red Light Lady is a new song that has not yet been recorded, stay tuned!
XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?
Brad: I have many influences and inspirations, but the greatest of them all would have to be Ratt. I used to watch videos of them when I was younger and I always thought they looked so awesome on stage.
XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?
Brad: Oof another hard one! Ratt, Night Ranger, Winger, and Firehouse.
XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Brad: One of my best accomplishments would have to be being a dad. I’m a parent to two boys and getting to be a guide for them and seeing life through their eyes means the world to me. My youngest has a passion for music also and loves watching me play, which is a motivator for me in what I do.
XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band what kind of career do you think you would have?
Brad: I probably would’ve chosen to become a firefighter or something in that field. I have a passion for helping others in any way I can.
XS ROCK: What type of equipment do you use for live shows?
Brad: I use a Jackson Pro HT6 for my axe & I run it through a ISP Theta MSX.
XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?
Brad: Locally, I think the scene is alive and supportive, but, needs more genre diversity.
XS ROCK: For anyone that doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?
Brad: My girlfriend had me try a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich and very surprisingly, I ended up really liking it. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
XS ROCK: If someone had never heard you before, how would you describe your sound?
Brad: I would say that we’re high energy rock and roll.
XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?
Brad: We’re going to be hitting the studio again at the beginning of the year, keep an ear out for new music and follow us on social media to get our latest show dates! Our website (www.wickedlovemusic.com) has a link to our Spotify as well as our Facebook & Instagram with the option to subscribe to our newsletter for future wicked news!
XS ROCK: Thanks again for taking the time to talk with XS Rock!
Brad: Thank you for the opportunity!
