Today, gothic noise rockers CRIPPLING ALCOHOLISM are proud to share their new single, “LADIES NIGHT,” taken from their upcoming album ‘Camgirl,’ due out on September 12th via Portrayal of Guilt. The new track arrives alongside a music video, available below.
“LADIES NIGHT” marks the fourth single released from the upcoming album, further building anticipation for what is sure to be the band’s most unrelenting and provocative work to date. Blending abrasive noise textures with a suffocating gothic atmosphere, the track showcases CRIPPLING ALCOHOLISM’s fearless approach to sonic extremity while offering a glimpse into the raw intensity of ‘Camgirl.’
Hailing from the underbelly of New England, blending punishing dissonance with pop transcendence, the sextet was originally formed in 2022 by vocalist Tony Castrati and drummer Danny Sher as a bleak and harrowing exploration of sound and psyche. Their debut album, ‘When the Drugs that Made You Sick are the Drugs that Make You Better,’ was raw and melancholy, steeped in noise, goth, and despair, that quietly circulated through niche music boards, earning a cult following.
Now, the band’s upcoming album ‘Camgirl’ tells the tragic, sordid tale of “Bella Pink,” an online performer whose story unfolds through the eyes of those who consume her: lovers, relatives, business partners, and stalkers. Musically, the album trades the Americana-tinted dirges of their earlier work for the neon sweat of the club, embracing dance music, party pop, and synthetic ecstasy. But beneath the gloss, ‘Camgirl’ is a body-horror portrait of lust, power, exploitation, and disintegration. It’s the band’s most accessible and most disturbing work to date.
In 2024, the band expanded into a full six-piece with the addition of Alyce (guitar), Stefan (guitar), Peter (bass), and Jonathan (synthesizer), evolving their sonic palette into something broader, bolder, and more unhinged.
At the heart of the band’s sound is Tony Castrati’s unmistakable baritone, a vocal presence drawing comparisons to Scott Walker, Nick Cave, and Peter Steele. His voice cuts through lush synths, chaotic percussion, and oceans of reverb like a sermon from the abyss. Lyrically, the band explores emotional ruin, desire, and horror, but always with a deceptive gloss of catchiness, luring listeners into a trance of sing-along doom.
