Back in 2015, twin brothers Sean and John Kamenar decided to make their dream of becoming a national touring rock band a reality. And the catalyst for this life-changing decision was none other than Aerosmith. The brothers had visited Hollywood studios and were blown away by Aerosmith’s sound via the amusement park ride Aerosmith’s Rock N’ Rollercoaster.
The brothers started the band Kamenar with only themselves as members and have had phenomenal success in the industry by pursuing their dreams in a DIY fashion. Known for their energetic live shows, Kamenar performs as a two-piece, uniquely creating a four-piece sound. With Sean Kamenar on lead vocals, playing guitar and bass simultaneously, and John Kamenar pounding the drums, this brother duo is known for creating a massive wall of sound.
On January 3rd, 2026, Kamenar opened for one of their heroes. One of the members of Aerosmith, the band that inspired them from the very beginning. Kamenar opened for the band Close Enemies, featuring Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton, at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go.
While the band has shared the stage with many well-known bands and artists, including Ace Frehley, Alice Cooper, and Slash ft. Myles Kennedy, Bret Michaels, Everclear, Filter, Hinder, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Puddle Of Mudd, Saliva, Alien Ant Farm, New Years Day, Nita Strauss, Night Ranger, LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, Dokken, King’s X, Jackyl, Geoff Tate, Stephen Pearcy, and Slaughter, among others. Opening for one of their musical heroes, from Aerosmith, was a dream come true.
