ALCATRAZZ - Parole Denied Tokyo 2017

Review:

Looking for a fantastic album that brings back the glory days of heavy metal? Well, look no further. You’ve found it.  One of the most incredible and striking things about this live release, is that lead vocalist Graham Bonnet is now 70 years old and absolutely kills it on this performance.  Original members Jimmy Waldo and Gary Shea return for this incredible reunion. I would have loved to see former, and original Alcatrazz guitarist, Yngwie Malmsteen reunite for a one off concert with the band, but I’m quite sure that his self-inflated, huge ego wouldn’t allow it.  The performances by all band members is spot on and sounds great throughout.  All the hits from Alcatrazz’s three studio albums are here, including my favorites Hiroshima Mon Amour, Too Young To Die…To Drunk To Live, God Blessed Video, Jet To Jet and the emotional and touching Suffer Me that Bonnet wrote for his mother. And if the live performance was enough, a second disc of demos and rehearsal tracks are included which actually sound really good.  If you’re a fan of Graham Bonnet, Alcatrazz or the history of metal, this is a must have for your collection. This would make a great stocking stuffer for the metal fan in your life. Alcatrazz are one of the godfather’s pf the L.A. metal scene and missing this album should be a crime punishable without parole.
