Bang Tango, guitarist and the documentary filmaker has announced the following:
Ultra HD upgrade of Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie — FREE on YouTube
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie, a feature-length documentary that was an absolute wild ride to make.
It was my directorial debut, and honestly, I had no idea what I was doing. Over the course of four years and nearly 400 hours of footage, I somehow figured out how to piece it together.
After the film came out — I ended up playing guitar for Bang Tango for a few years and essentially lived the movie I had just then made which was a whole other realm of wonderful insanity and some of the best times of my existence.
The film was originally released for free on YouTube in 480p back in 2016. Since it was actually shot in HD, I decided to revisit it for the anniversary — cleaning it up, color correcting, fixing some audio issues, and even doing a 4K upscale.
It’s still very much a gritty DIY film, imperfections and all — but it’s been a blast to bring it back to life.
The movie was made not only for fans of the band and that era of music, but also for people who aren’t familiar with the band at all and just enjoy a good, engaging story. If you’re into rock documentaries, I highly recommend checking this one out.
Huge thanks to everyone who watched it, shared it, and got a kick out of it back then — enough that this felt worth revisiting.
And all the love in the world to Bang Tango, its original members, Joe Leste, Mark Knight, Kyle Stevens, Kyle Kyle, Tigg Ketler, and every member of the band since. I adore and appreciate you all more than I can put into words.
The film also features an opening narration from Dee Snider and interviews with legendary producer Howard Benson, and iconic TV & Radio personality Riki Rachtman.
Extra special thanks to Anu Gunn — without you, this film never would’ve been completed.
