Are you a fan of Queens Of The Stone Age, Eagles Of Death Metal, Jack White, or Electric Six? If you’re answer is yes to any of these, then you’ll really dig what Satan Takes A Holiday has constructed on their new album Aliens. I was instantly hooked on the first song Good Cop Bad Cop, which is probably my favorite, but there’s plenty of great garage/alt-rock and everything but the kitchen sink mixed in on the rest of the tracks as well. Their sound is actually quite cohesive and steady throughout. Filled with energy, you might want to drink an energy drink before listening to this the first time, just so you can keep up. I love the tracks More Is More, Queen Mother and Ladder To Climb. But if their originals aren’t enough, check out there cover version of “Why Don’t We Do It The Road” from the Beatles White Album. The funny thing is, no matter what type of music you prefer, I dare you to listen to this album and try not have a good time. It’s a fun, raw, rocking album that has a real quirky sensibility that’s hard to resist. Check these guys out. Just left of normal which makes them just right. A solid album from start to finish.
