XS ROCK: Tell me about the latest band news? Any new projects coming out, live shows or announcements?
Noah: Adrift In Remorse coming out on Transcending Records February 23rd. Writing new tunes, and working on filling out the lineup.
XS ROCK: How long has the band been together?
Jason: the core solidified in 2013 so almost 5 years.
XS ROCK: What was your main motivation for starting or being in a band?
Jason: Self expression.
Noah: To make music that is an articulation of the soul.
Nick: Creative masturbation.
XS ROCK: What is your music background?
Nick: Long time bassist songwriter.
Jason: Death, Black and Doom bass and guitar.
Noah: Started as a drummer, vocals, guitar, keys and bass. Various bands/musical projects across the gamut of musical variety. Some death metal, black metal, darkwave, atmospheric bands.
XS ROCK: What image do you think your music conveys?
Jason: We try to avoid a specific image and let the music speak for itself.
Nick: No labels.
XS ROCK: What are your immediate music career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)
Noah: Work on our full length, fill out our lineup.
XS ROCK: What are your long-term career goals?
Band: Working to pay the bills as long as we need to. Staying true to the music and striving to be best musicians we can.
XS ROCK: Which do you prefer? Writing new songs and recording or playing for a live audience?
Jason: 100% the creative process.
Noah: I’m more the writing side but I enjoy an occasional good, well planned live performance.
Nick: I’m along those lines too.
XS ROCK: What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Noah: I think our cover artist Costin Chioreanu summed it up best with “Introspection, Nostalgia, Sadness. Made with heart.”
XS ROCK: Do you have any outrageous tour stories from the road? If so, please fill us in.
Noah: No large tours yet. But we’ll fill you in when there is.
XS ROCK: What’s the strangest request that you’ve ever received from one of your fans?
Noah: To be honest, we haven’t had any strange requests yet. We’re looking forward to it.
XS ROCK: Were your parents supportive of your aspirations to play in a rock band?
Jason: Very. Since my teens my parents were very supportive of my music.
Nick: My family has been cool with it.
Noah: My parents weren’t too pleased that I was into rock and metal but in general encouraged my musical aspirations.
XS ROCK: What are your favorite tracks to play live?
Jason: As You Never Were.
Noah: Brittle Sentiment, even though we never had the pleasure of having Matt Motto of Dissona play his solo with us. Hopefully that’ll be a thing.
XS ROCK: Which band or artist inspired you to perform? Why?
Noah: The Cure
XS ROCK: If you could design a dream tour for your band, who would be on the bill?
Jason: Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, Saturnus, if Peter was still around.
Noah: The Hanging Garden, Hallatar, Ikuinen Kuamos, Obiyimi Doschu and us.
Nick: Soen, Chelsea Wolfe, Madder Mortem
XS ROCK: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Band: Definitely completing Adrift in Remorse, largely made possible by the efforts and dedication of Tony Petrocelly of Trepan Studios.
XS ROCK: If you weren’t performing in a band what kind of career do you think you would have?
Band: We all have day jobs but we wouldn’t imagine our lives without music.
XS ROCK: What type of equipment do you use for live shows?
Jason: Older BC Rich guitars, ESP guitars, ENGL and Marshall amps.
Noah: Samsun mics, Schecter guitars.
Nick: Schecter basses and Ampeg amps.
XS ROCK: What do you think of the current music scene?
Jason: You have to search for it but there’s some brilliant stuff out there.
Noah: I think the underground music scene is as diverse and exciting as its ever been.
Nick: The good stuff is out there.
XS ROCK: For anyone that doesn’t know you, what would they be surprised to know about you?
Noah: I’m an avid tea lover. Zen and tea is my dig.
Jason: I’m an avid canine advocate.
Nick: I have a beautiful girl friend.
XS ROCK: If someone had never heard you before, how would you describe your sound?
Band: Melancholic, dark, atmospheric metal with elements of darkwave, death doom, post punk, Shoegaze and classical.
XS ROCK: Is there anything that you’d like to promote or say to your fans out there?
