Recently, I did a review of Halloween‘s album “No One Gets Out” and a lot of our readers asked for more. So, today I’m offering mt review of their 2006 album, Horrorfire. So lets start there. by 2006 the band had been through several personnel changes. In 1997, former members Rick Craig and Bill Whyte rejoined only to leave again and George Neal had also left, but returned again in 2004. Enter new drummer and producer for Horrorfire, Rob Brug. Now re-energized, the band hit the studio and recorded an album of over 1 hour of great songs. Make no mistake, regardless of the change in band members leading up to this album, it sounds every bit like the Halloween that you know and love. This album sees the band sounding as hungry as ever. The songs are straight ahead metal and the production by Brug is quite good. There’s an excellent cover of Alice Cooper’s “Go To Hell” and a great lineup of tracks like Halloween Night, The Crush, The Seer, Rage and Fighting Words. You get a lot of music for your money with a total of 18 tracks. If you’re familiar with Halloween‘s sound and style, then you already know the intensity that they bring to their recordings and Horrorfire is no exception. I’ve always thought that Brian Thomas has a unique voice and he’s definitely on his “A” game on this album. Check this one out for yourself if you like Halloween, or just like great American made metal.
