Review:
Finally, we get a live performance of Ektomorf. I’ve been a fan for quite some time and really dig their sound. Although, I’ve never had the chance to actually see them perform live, this seems to be a great representation of what the band brings. If you get the deluxe edition with CD / DVD you get even more live goodness as well as behind the scenes material. Ektomorf hails from Hungary and that’s probably why I’ve been deprived of being able to see them live. Touring in other countries is often quite expensive for many of these bands. The band rips through a greatest hits package of the bouncy death metal type songs that they are known for. This is exactly the material that I would have chosen for a live show, so I’m I definitely happy with Warpath. As always fans of bands like Soulfly and Sepultura should pay attention to what Ektomorf is doing. It’s really great, brutal metal with a bit of a funky flavor mixed in for good measure. Highlights include Holocaust, Black Flag, Leech And the opening track Aggressor, which is from their latest studio album. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to catch these guys thrash it up at alive concert soon, but if not this is the next best thing. This is a great album with lots of headbanging material for anyone.
