Wow! That’s the first thought that comes to mind when reviewing the new EP by Edge Of Paradise. The band has altered their sound to deliver a fresh metal punch in the face. Starting with the opening song, Alive, I’m completely hooked. I can listen to this song and actually the whole Alive EP over and over again, and it still feels exciting. I enjoyed the band’s previous effort but this by far the best material the band has put out. It’s a welcome release in a world filled with a lot of metal bands that sound exactly the same. Margarita Monet‘s voice is simply magnificent throughout and creates a real ethereal, dream-like vocal delivery. The song Mystery is both haunting and beautiful and will stay with you long after you’ve heard it. Literally, one song after another will delight and amaze the listener. If you’re a metal music lover, then this should be added to your list of must buy releases. It’s outstanding from start to finish and is in a class all by itself.
